COLOUR: VERDIGRIS AND THE COLOUR DEEP GREEN FOR 2017
...GREEN IN INTERIORS SYMBOLISES NATURE, TRANQUILITY AND PROMOTES BALANCE AND HARMONY...
My research tells me interior trends for the new year will include everything plywood, chinese red and mixing up pattern, but for me its all about DARK GREEN TONES and VERDIGRIS EFFECTS.
I'm not an obsessive trend gal but there are some trends I like to add touches of. I always tend to gravitate to looks I consider already classy and classic, that will stand the test of time and will be good long term investments. This is certainly the case with deep/dark greens and stunning verdigris effects; both extensions of last year's botanical craziness, they're keepers for sure and have been classics for years. Verdigris is the result of copper reacting with air which creates a stunning turquoise patina and you'll find there will be lots of "effects" on products like vases in the coming months. Now is the time to add some cool accents and enjoy the wonder of these stunning colours if you haven't already.
With Pantone announcing the colour of the year as "Greenery" (a lighter brighter zesty green) IT'S ABOUT TO GET PRETTY GREEN IN THE INTERIORS WORLD
EMERALD GREEN SOFA - A pretty bold purchase but I think an awsome one, I love the contrast between the white panelling and that bold green velvet! Lots of high street retailers are showcasing this colour on their velvets, take a look at this similar style sofa from SWOON EDITIONS
RUSTIC EARTHENWEAR IS GOING TO BE HOT THIS YEAR, TRY A GREEN SHADE!
GREEN CERAMICS - A safer bet; start with some lovely green ceramics - the rustic earthenwear look is going to be hot this year too!
HOWS ABOUT A NICE GREEN STAIRCASE?
BOLD ACCENTS - Ahh the old "feature" wall trick, still, it works if you want to be daring but not too daring and add a splash of colour. Also looks rather nice painted on a staircase. See a similar paint colour from FARROW AND BALL
GREEN FABRICS - A winner for adding a zip of greenery here and there. I love these fauna print headboards and contrasting geometric throws, with more green in the framed art to tie it all together. Take a look at fabrics from House of Hackney who feature dark green in many of their stunning prints.
VERDIGRIS GREEN IS THE PERFECT FRIEND FOR GOLD AND MARBLE!
Cute little Verdigris effect vase too by Cox & Cox which is really striking! BUY HERE
