PATTERN: GINGHAM AND CHECKS FOR THE MODERN INTERIOR
GINGHAMS GALORE FOR 2017
Thank the lord! FINALLY the classic "country-tastic" gingham/check print is BACK IN! I've only had to wait 20 years (well since 2010 when it was last "on trend") but I'm so glad it seems to be enjoying a granny chic revival. This magical print which is a favourite granny chic print of mine will be a fabulous addition to our new living room decor project which is currently, on the go! To be entirely honest I don't ever really let trends dictate my design choices and I would probably be adding a touch of gingham or check into look anyways, but I'm too just so glad that the gingham is being celebrated in a cool and contemporary way and it's cottage/farmhouse label is slowly shifting...
I've also become slightly obsessed with gingham tops and shirts which seem to be all the rage this SS17. This is my current favourite from Topshop with the added cuteness of frills on the sleeves! BUY HERE

HENRY HOLLAND FOR HABITAT
The gingham trend first caught my eye a couple of months ago with the launch of Henry Holland's new collaboration with Habitat. We really do have Henry to thank for bringing the classic gingham up to date with his gorgeous romany traveller inspired collection which features statement prints, bold florals and cheeky slogans - I LOVE it. Find out more and shop the collection HERE
I love the bright, bold colours and mash up of florals and ginghams - the ultimate pattern clash! The room set is pretty cool too!
What do you think?
Inspired by the gingham revival in fashion and interiors I have dug out a few decor looks which illustrate how cool and modern this traditional print can be; all of which feature a chic black/navy and white gingham. To avoid the chintzy cottage look try and weave your ginghams into statement pieces with a contemporary backdrop like this example below.
This all-out gingham restaurant decor is totally fabulous and is another way of going modern with your gingham decor.
So what do you think about the gingham and check revival? Are you partial to a bit of gingham? I would love to hear from you as always!
